Re-establishing the community ethos of the original ‘The Store’ site, Clyde Street Arts has become a cultural precinct - a nontraditional urban creative economy - giving new life to industrial sites with uniquely historic ties to Newcastle and the Hunter region - a much welcomed and needed community asset.

Its foundation art tenant being The Creator Incubator will have their artists open studios, its growing ecosystem a full spectrum of local emerging to established with national profiles. And its iconic sustainability tenant being national food waste giant OzHarvest who just celebrated 20 years in operation and will be running a BBQ fundraiser. Recycled textiles specialist Upcycle will be offering a diverse collection of creatively upcycled products, including unique fashion items like repurposed denim clothing, hats and upcycled bags. There will also be fun pop up activities running, where you can make your own dog toy, or try your hand at finger crocheting.

Bringing the community together at this vibrant “one night only” event of open studios, art sales, market stalls with second-hand goods and handmade recycled products, food trucks, live music & DJs, vintage Karaoke bus and large-scale mural painted live. Avoid the chaos at Kotara this Christmas and join your community to shop local and support your local talent.

Get there by no.12 bus out front of 50 Clyde St or 25min walk from Hamilton, Broadmeadow or Waratah Train Stations. Walk in via Western Laneway or drive in via Eastern Laneway - limited parking out back.
